Prince is having a moment. The rock star is being taught by Questlove in a weeklong master class at NYU, Toure’s biography on him comes out on Friday, and last Saturday he rocked SXSW in Austin, to list a few. But, back in 1979, at the age of 19, Prince was a nobody.
Austin, Texas was the place to be on the closing night of SXSW last night! That’s because Samsung brought out legendary music icon Prince to their epic Sound Stage. To make things even sweeter, it was His Purple Majesty’s first time performing at the festival. His set, together with Tribe, lasted about four hours.
