DEAD BOSTON BOMBER’S BLOOD USED FOR ART (PHOTO)

Killed Boston Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev‘s blood has been used to create patriotic and nationalist art on the street where he was killed during the police shoot out last week. The piece is a minimalist chalk drawing in three colors: red, white and blue, symbolizing the American flag.

RECAP: AVA DUVERNAY WINS HEINEKEN FILMMAKER AWARD (PHOTOS)

On Saturday I attended Heineken’s and the Tribeca Film Institute’s Affinity Award presentation and party at Studio 48 on NYC’s West Side. The award, given to an African-American filmmaker (age 21 and over) to empower and encourage them to continue to craft stories through film, was awarded to Ava DuVernay. Storm Saulter, director of Better Must Come, above, accepted the award on DuVernay’s behalf.

Frank Ocean is not gay but most, if not all, press and people says he is. I’ve never heard or read a declaration from Ocean stating he is homosexual. Neither did you. All Ocean said last summer was this: I once loved someone whose gender was mine. Ocean’s homosexual non fact coupled with his music writing skills has somehow catapulted him to Time’s Annual 100 Most Influential People’s List.

DOGS ADOPT MINISCULE SQUIRREL, SAVING IT FOR DIN DIN (PHOTOS)

Inter-species cooperation is a wonderful thing. Perhaps if Neanderthals and homo sapiens had practiced what these dogs did for this squirrel,  humanity would look and behave in a completely different way today. It could happen…in a hippy universe maybe.

JAMIE FOXX AS ELECTRO IN SPIDER-MAN 2 IS EXTRA SMURFY (PHOTOS)

Jamie Foxx as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Or Jamie Foxx as a black Smurf? Either way, so far so good. In the Spider-Man franchise, Electro is the evil alias of Maxwell Dillon, an engineer who gained the ability to control electricity after he was struck by lightning while fixing a power line. In the cartoons and comic books Electro wore a green and yellow costume and was white. Jamie’s Electro is a step up.

The Dominican actress, who courted controversy a few months back after agreeing to play Nina Simone in an upcoming biopic, wore a floral, lace Givenchy skirt and a long sleeved black top paired with Jimmy Choo peep toe pumps and a wide grin.
