1983 was an awesome year for me. In fact, Monday marked 30 years since I’ve returned to New York. In 1983, I was nine about to turn 10, and was back in New York after an 8 3/4 year stint of living in Guyana, where my mother was from, with my grandparents. I rode an aeroplane for the first time that year, ate an apple, saw snow, and watched the A-Team on my first color TV in my own bedroom, in Queens.
There’s much more, of course: there are more women in Congress today than in 1983; the camcorder was the big invention back then compared to smartphones of today, which not only records video but organize your life. Don’t take my word though, let the infographic by Top Degrees Online show and tell it.
