Beyonce is on another cover of Vogue, this time the UK version. Image of the cover was released yesterday, or a few hours ago depending on the outlet of your choice for such information. I found it on Twitter a few hours ago but didn’t post it cuz I thought it was boring. I’ve changed my mind cuz I want to comment on how underwhelming this new achievement is.
For Bey’s first Vogue UK cover, Blue Ivy’s mom is dressed in a blue-and-white striped Jonathan Saunders cropped top and blue sequined skirt and a vacant expression. The photographer of this shoot is no Terry Richardson. For Bey’s GQ cover Richardson pulled some sexiness out of Bey for sure. Here, its pretty much meh, been there done that.
Granted UK Vogue is for women, and women like seeing other women in pictures. But this picture is nothing to look at, really. It reads lazy and uninspiring, and an accomplishment crossed off on a to-do list. In short, this is safe and ind irect conteicrion to the Bow Down sing released a few weeks ago. Perhaps the cover was shot in December or earlier? Either way, lets see what the other images look like when those are released by UK Vogue.
