“Eaten By The Heart” is a video excerpt conceived, written and directed by British-Nigerian Zina Saro-Wiwa, daughter of the late Nigerian human rights activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa. Below is a segment from her video installation comissioned by The Menil Collection in Houston, TX, for the ongoing Progress Of Love exhibit, which is a collaborative project between The Menil Collection, the Centre for Contemporary Art (in Lagos, Nigeria), and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts in St. Louis.

The above stencil art was posted to Imgur last night and claims to be a piece found in Germany. It’s an interesting take on the 2001 NYC bombings. Clever or insensitive? I’m rolling with both, reading it as a commentary on corporate terrorism.

I want to read Fourier so that I can be a good conversationalist. At Parties. On the bus. Or even just as an opening.
The characters in Whit Stillman’s 1990 film Metropolitan may not be exactly tolerable but they are fascinating. They have the kind of conversations that I am not sure exist anymore (and possibly never did). They sit in their living rooms in suits and ball gowns discussing Agrarian Socialism and New York in the popular imagination.
