Proof that we’re losing this fight can be found in the image above where two white guys dress as Trayvon Martin and his killer for Halloween. In blackface and a hoodie. Yes, the murder of an unarmed black child is now costume for white people just like back in the day when white folks wore our body parts after a lynching.
Murdered Florida teen Trayvon Martin made a surprise appearance last night at the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and most of America missed him. That’s because Martin, depicted as a puppet, was credited as a writer Trayvon Free for the Daily Show in the Best Writing in a Variety Show category along with other Daily Show nominees.

Artist Murs took to his Facebook account today to sound off on the George Zimmerman verdict .What he’s saying isn’t pretty but needs to be said. “The verdict that was delivered in the Trayvon Martin case this weekend,” the White Mandingoes member wrote, ” deeply saddened and angered me. As I’m sure it did more than a few of you.”

Myself and millions of folks woke up this morning with our hearts clenched in a fist after a Florida jury on Saturday night found not guilty a culturally identified white man who stalked and murdered a black teenager because he looked like he didn’t belong in a “white” neighborhood.

Florida is the armpit of America so its not surprising that a Florida cop who used images of Trayvon Martin as target pracrice at a gun range has been fired. Fox News is reporting that Port Canaveral Interim Chief Executive Officer John Walsh told WFTV on Saturday that Sgt. Ron King was leading a target practice with two other Port Canaveral police officers and a civilian port employee when he pulled out the targets April 4.

Trayvon Martin would have been 18 years old today had he not been murdered by George Zimmerman in Florida last year. Martin, like all black men in this country, if we are to believe the racists, looked like a criminal, appeared to be in a place where he didn’t belong, posed a threat to the way of life of someone who took the law into his own hands.
