Margaret Groening, the woman behind the inspiration behind Matt Groening’s The Simpsons, has died, according to an obit published in Portland yesterday. The obit revealed that Margaret was born a Wiggum before marrying Homer, who made her laugh in school. All the characters on the show are/were real and lived in Linfield, Oregon. Matt lost his sister Patty in January.
