Mickalene Thomas X Cass Bird X Oyster Mag (PHOTO)

Brooklyn based artist Mickalene Thomas is featured in the June/July issue of Australian fashion magazine Oyster. The issue is called the “All Women’s” issue and the Pratt Institute and Yale graduate was photographed by noted photographer Cass Bird against colorful and multi-patterned backgrounds, akin to her paintings.

Dharun Ravi Sentenced To 30 Days (DETAILS)

Dharun Ravi, the Rutgers University student who spied on his roommate while he was having sex with another man in 2010, was sentenced today to 30 days in jail, 300 hours of community service and  sensitivity training as punishment for driving Tyler Clementi to commit suicide. Beenie Man Apologizes To LGBT Community, Says He’s Changed (VIDEO)

Reggae artist Beenie Man joins the list of artists who are speaking about the LGBT community positively after President Obama came out in support of gay marriage. The, allegedly, formerly homophobic dancehall artist released a video apologizing  to gays for over ten years of violently homophobic lyrics in his music. “I respect all human being, including gays and lesbian,” Beenie Man said in the video which was sent to Rototom Sunsplash, organizers of the largest reggae festival in the world. Bullied Gay Teen Brings Stun Gun To School, Faces Expulsion (VIDEO)

After filing 10 complaints with Arsenal Technical High School officials in Indianapolis, and after nothing was done to ensure that his body and education was safeguarded, he turned to his mom for help. Disco Diva Donna Summer Dead At 63 (DETAILS)

Disco diva Donna Summer has died from cancer, TMZ is reporting. Summer died this morning in Florida at age 63. A 5-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the ’70s with iconic hits including Last Dance, Hot Stuff and Bad Girls, Summer was the Queen of Disco and an icon.
