Pantone, the world authority on color, sets what colors most of the fashion and design world will rock during the year. This year its Radiant Orchid so expect to see tons of purples.
Curious about how Pantone’s swatches compare to human skin, Spanish photographer Angelica Dass began Humanae, an ongoing project where volunteers, found via Tumblr and Facebook, are paired and photographed with Pantone color backgrounds. For example, Dass takes an 11×11 pixels sample of the subject’s face skin tone to determine the background color then makes a portrait.
Dass’s work is represented by Max Estrella Gallery.
