Millions of Black and brown New Yorkers can exhale: a federal judge has ruled that NY’s stop and frisk policy is unconstitutional. The decision was reached this morning after a two month trial in which federal judge Shira A. Scheindlin ruled that police officers have for years been systematically stopping innocent people in the street without any objective reason to suspect them of wrongdoing, violating the Fourth Ammendment.

A 17 year old teen is now the 10th person added to the list of murdered LGBT folks in Jamaica, a former British colony whose anti-homosexuality laws date back to the 1800s. The teen was murdered by a mob at a party who discovered that the woman dancing with one of the patrons was in fact  a male.

A privacy group wants to sue Jay-Z amd Samsung because their recent Magna Carta Holy Grail app, they claim, invaded downlader’s privacy. “Samsung failed to disclose material information about the privacy practices of the app,” Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) said in a call for investigation filed with the Federal Trade Commission this week.

DOLPHINS RECOGNIZED AS NON HUMAN PERSONS BY INDIA (DETAILS)

Generally thought of as the asshats of our oceans and water-ways, dolphins last May were recognized as non-human persons by the Indian government. “Whereas cetaceans in general are highly intelligent and sensitive,”  said B.S. Bonal, the member secretary of the Central Zoo Authority of India.
